HEy guys ... do u want a recording software taht does multi track recording ? ok ... there might be many softwares out there ... but each one has its own hitch ... most of em are not free ... and if u are piracy promoter then no need to go thru this thread ... but among the freewares all of em have the same defect (or rathger shortcoming) u cannot play back a track while recording a new track ... and after much seraching i found a software taht does it ... and it is free *hooray* check this: https://www.kreatives.org/kristal/ i used it yest and it surely
hey but remember the GUI isnt very intuitive ... so for using all the functions mayB u'll havta read the readMe file for once :
^ does Multi--- support play while record? and isit free ? ... if the answer to both is yes the post the link dude ... i need it ...
goldwave is not free ... and the free goldwave is not good ... multiquence is shareware any probs u faced till now?
Another free multitrack recorder Dude, try audacity. It's free. And it does it all. https://audacity.sourceforge.net/
Audicity does not ... i got fed up of that ... was using that ... i had to play a copy of rhythm on winamp for multi track coz audacity wont supoort play n record option ... and then came a horde of synchronisation issues ... thats y i searched for a sfotweare nad got KRISTAL
playback and record There is an option in audacity which, when ticked, allows playback and record at the same time (I don't remember which tab it comes under. If you want I can check at home and let you know). You have to import the rhythm track as a track in audacity. That way, the synchro issues vanish. But, I guess each to his own. Rock on, and thanks for sharing the info.
^ ok ... i guess ppl are not gettting what i meant i wanted to record a blues piece ... so i turned on the drum rhythm on my processor and with the drive on slight overdrive i recorded the standard 12 bar blues ... now i wanted to play and record leads over it ... so i played the blues rhythm track i just recorded ... but hey i cannot record my leads ... then i tried to record leads track ... but hey i cannot play back the rhythm ... so i said damn ... i saved the rhythm section ... and played it on winamp ... and recorded the leads into Audacity ... now what i do is to keep the mike just in front of the amp/speaker (no i dont use the Line in or Line out) so when i play the section of leads - the mic records only that ... and not the sound from my comp speakers (which is still playing the blues rhythm) now the problem is far from being solved ... i have to get the rhythm and leads synchronised ... coz the mic recorded only one at a time ... so i try for diff placement (all done manually) ... ultimately end up with time lag between leads and rhythm ... try this ... u will knwo what i talk ... but if u use Line In Line Out then forget it ... u waont face the same prob ... as i faced ...
oh yeah sure ... i made on blues kinda recording ... but that was done with audicity ... and it has that lead - lag problem that i just now said ... but dunno how ta post it ... it is about 2MB
