i need to convert all my movie files to mp4, any freeware?
Look no further
I used Xilisoft Mp4 converter, it is easy to use.
@alpha - I've used that thing before...it's insanely complex to use! O_O
Or unless you can tell me whats the optimal sampling rate and bitrate for different video formats...? I usually convert to MOV (nice compression) and I wanna try MP4 (what's the hype bout?)
So you want the software to choose all predetermined bit rates and screen resolutions for you.
Be it a DVD you are ripping or a crappy MMS?
I use the xilisoft converters =). Effective and fast enough.
Aye, a cross be it, sire...FLV videos from YouTube (usually music videos and live performances of bands). <-- The good quality ones, not home video scum.
By the way, the Xilisoft ones are not freeware...poop.
And I found the answer to the problem of all the settings...you can look up the properties of the file to be converted...so obviously, you dont want to set up something higher in most cases (a bit of knowledge of audio codecs helps, too).
Rest is all experimenting.
good you realized it.
saved me all the typing ...
