@alpha - I've used that thing before...it's insanely complex to use! O_O Or unless you can tell me whats the optimal sampling rate and bitrate for different video formats...? I usually convert to MOV (nice compression) and I wanna try MP4 (what's the hype bout?)

By the way, the Xilisoft ones are not freeware...poop. And I found the answer to the problem of all the settings...you can look up the properties of the file to be converted...so obviously, you dont want to set up something higher in most cases (a bit of knowledge of audio codecs helps, too). Rest is all experimenting.
