What would you do if you were a Mod of IGT for a day. The best reply gets 20,000 points, so lets hear it!
(1) reduce the number of forums by punching them together. have a "musical tab talk" forum and a "rock music" forum and a "metal music" forum for all the western/english music... similarly one "indian language music talk" forum and another "indian lanuage tabs" forum. the result, i hope, will be this that people will have less of navigation to do. there are actually threads that are great and interesting but i never contributed cos i never saw them !! also there are a 1000 igt-ers i have never seen and who have never seen me - cos of the many many partitions in igt. in short, having so many forums and subforums reduce participation, and thus lower the quality of posts in igt and has made it MANY DIFFERENT COMMUNITIES - each with its own choice sub-igt-forum !! (2) encourage non-technical non-tab based musical talk and in fact not talk, but discussion where people can post their "opinions". when you have a thread like "your favourite dylan song and why" then the level of participation is likely to be a lot more than when you have "tool vs korn" threads. i mean the scope of the first thread is a lot more and a lot more people can connect to it. SO, IN A NUTSHELL, igt's main problem(not that it isnt doing well despite it) to my mind is that - - ITS TOO "EXCLUSIVE-IST" ... (edit)... er... EXCLUSION-ist. either by fault of the (1) forum-groupings or (2) the straitjacketed-ness of the threads. so these are the problems i'd try to sort out on Redemption Day..... yeah i'd also try to encourage humour and general informality between members.

( man......i am dyin 2 know it) 3. close all love / gf threads............: 4.will make some threads of igt under 15 not allowed( like official pj thread) 5.open 1 new lounge called best music lounge / open 1 new igt music album where selected guitaring mp3s( ofcoures played by igtians :grin will which can be downloaded by igtians......dis will includ some mp3 lessons like how to do tapping, or diff strummings, or sweep picking etc...............AND all of da selected mp3 senders will get 5000 points! 6.call igt meeting on dat day!(fr sure:grin.......and try to make it once in every 4 mons 7.will take avaters( smalll or bigg) frm users and make them 50x50 pixels size..../will give more than 50 avas in select ur avatar section................ 8. make 1 system via which when 1 users total messege is full (70) and he is recivin more.. den his/her last msg will be autometically deleted in order to get tht new pm........ 9.and finally, make a vote....dat shld i be a parmanent mod???::and ask neo fr dat::

there are a lot of useful information on this site, but it's not organized. don't get me wrong, the forums are organized into categories, but say for example i visted the Hindi Tabs section to find a particular tab, i would have to search through that entire section to find any and all posts to the song i'm looking for. that's time consuming (who has time these days?) what can be done is organizing all the songs in that subsection by movies, then by songs. i know it would be difficult considering this is a bulletin board, but the admin has access to space on the server. html, asp, or whatever else pages you have can be created to organized the music tablature and filter out the chatter. a FAQ could also be created for all the "newbies" - it would be very helpful. and though it cannot be done in a day, it is definitely something to think about.
I would try to get back Jayanth, Jayswami, Bandbaja and other guys who left IGT for whatever reason...Start this forum all over again as if nothin ever happened..., Hope I could do that..,
I will do just only one thing....only one thing.....I will try to convince other mods (coz Lord Neo is.....) and all igitians to become a permanent MOD!!!!!!!

I know "winners dont do different things..they do things differently" so wht i wud do is create a position above administrator and shall give it to the most abled administrator....(tht can be u if u wud gimme those points .... just kidding... The following wud be the things i wud rather do: 1.Give a personal space (may be 50 MB or 100 MB) for all the members to upload their work or lessons which can be more practically understood by hearing to those.... 2.Create a chat at personel level (i know its tough)...but may be a restricted time a day may be 2 hrs or 1 hr wud be really helpful.... 3.Encourage more meets may be city level or state level (if members are really enthued) other stuff has already been suggested in few threads above.... donno if these r impressive to fetch me the points : but i bet these wud help us a loooot...... and three cheers for u to be so innovative enough to get a feedback with a lure of 20k points...keep IGT rockin :rock::rock:..we deserve ADMINs like u :nw: :nw:... best wishes, pavan.
