n da modem is a Xentrix X7005Q manufactured by XAVi Technologies Corporation.

i am scourging the net and my offline sources . ... could you tell us what kind of error messages or anything comes up .. ? does'nt the dialup connect or the modem does'nt respond. .. ? what is it ??

 

as far as i can make out this kinda modem is'nt compatible with linux .. .but don't jump to conclusions and don't give up . . i'm still trying. .. lot to go through still .. .do wait

 

ok, da thing is.. mandrake loads default usb drivers. n i need 2 kno wat shud b done 2 prevent dis. coz only if dese default drivers rnt installed, can i install da actual 1. ne help??

They dont support Linux.. I got an email back saying they will find me an alternate driver which may or will work wiht the Modem.. got to wait..
