well since this thread is already here, i thought i'd post my guitar project in progress. we have a wood workshop in our college so i thought, well dont get opportunities like this all the time. this one's more of an art project to me than an engineering one, so im going to be buying all the electronics rather than building them. Although i am considering winding my own pickups just to see whether it would sound like a bullet wound or a car crash =P

Here's the sawn out and glued together body (high quality plywood since i cant afford hardwood)-

this was a pain to carve and sand. first time im ever using woodwork tools, i decide to make a guitar. should've started with a chair or something >_<

premade neck gotten offa ebay, maple with rosewood fretboard -

neck and body test join after routing the neck cavity and the edges -
    https://i584.photobucket.com/albums/ss283/littleolaf/DSC02969.jpg

didnt screw it all the way in, but it looks like the neck plate might be a millimetre or two over the curved edge, gah, shouldnt have been so enthusiastic with the sanding

Anyway this things gonna get a neck bucker and bridge single, with a five way super switch for coil tapping and stuff and NO pickguard. Heh dont expect to see this completed anytime soon, its probably going to be over a month before i can afford the hardware and start routing cavities for them. By the time its done its going to end up costing me more than an Epiphone LP.

Crossing fingers for next project to be either LP carved top ply or flat hardwood one =P

    also
@thread starter: PICS OR IT DIDNT HAPPEN :p

@Luthier: those are some pretty sweet looking bodies, what did you use to carve them out?
