chintan9 yay! i won the ipod!

This is the thing, I havent really bought a single piece of equipment for the past year or so and I really need something that would help settle the GAS in my system. A good distortion pedal(analog) would really serve my purpose.

I intend to make use of the FX loop(send/return) in my processor to connect the distortion pedal which will inturn enable me to use features of both my processor AND the pedal .

    Equipment:
    a) Ibanez RG 370DX with stock pups
    b) Zoom GFX8
    c) D'addario strings(standard)

    Metal tones that interest me:
    a) Nevermore
    b) Death
    c) Arch Enemy
    d) Evergrey
    e) Opeth
    f) Symphony X
    g) Martyr

I did a little research myself and kinda narrowed it down to:
    a) AMT Metalizer
    https://www.amtnorthamerica.com/products/product_pages/metalizer.html

    b) Line 6 Uber Metal
    https://line6.com/tonecore/uberMetal.html

    c) Digitech Death Metal
    https://www.digitech.com/products/DeathMetal.htm

    d) Landmine
    https://www.landminepedals.com/

    e) Zoom Tri Metal
    https://www.samsontech.com/products/productpage.cfm?prodID=159

Need you guys to help me choose the best among the aforementioned pedals. Also, if you know of a pedal which sounds better than the ones mentioned, let me know.

Dont even touch the Uber Metal.......I didnt like it at all....too Slipknotty(digital sounding )
The Landmine sounds quite good tho........
It has to be the Metalizer !!

hmmmm just to make matters worse alpha and ronnie somehow share the view that the Metalizer is kinda lacking when it comes down to the REAL heavy stuff. And reviews all over the place somehow seem to tilt in favour of the line6 uber metal.

Line6 Ubert Metal is pretty versatail.....I really liked the Death Metal too.....Chintan, you should try one sometime.....I had good qualities that are not really needed in a Death Metal pedal like good responsiveness and clearing up with volume knob. This is in addition to the insane amounts of gain it had...Strong EQ too......

    BOSS METAL ZONE!

this is by far the most lethal and the most aggressive distortion ever to be heard on this earth. i would give this a 7 on 5 :)
the manufacturers have really put in hard work to get this tone.........
the distortion of this pedal is smoother than even a bed of roses! but the hard metal sound is not compramised in any case! u can get a SANTANA STYLE AND A SLASH STYLE GUITAR TONE!!!!!!!

    but,
It does not go well with a low end amp.

I have a stranger( local low end) anda kustom sound 30 watt.
the sound of this pedal is out of this earth with the custom. a Marshall will be even better!!!!!!
use a marshall wiyth this pedal and a decent guitar u can blow away minds of rockers with the ELITE and FAT, SMOOTH and a LONG HIGH SUSTAIN SOLO! each and every metal sound is covered in this little box!

it is also not that difficult in its ease of use.

I really like this for the awesome tones it has.
the MID FREQ contral can change to a sharp edge tone to a thinck low end fat tone!

by playing this u are sure to be in the spot light!

    GR8 peice of work!

    ^^ I have a clip of the MT2, it's pretty decent.

If anything I'd recommend the EHX Metal Muff.
Where are you planning to buy from?

MT2 is pretty aggresssive.........Maybe if you go for a Modded MT2, then you can more rounded tone....I am not a fan of it though but it sure is really aggressive....

hmmm infact i really love the noise gate option on the linee 6. This coupled with the metal, pulverise and insane options kinda open up a whole new world. what say??

Ive tried the Digitech Death Metal, though i aint a huge fan it sure is better than the Boss MT2 imho. Both pedals seemed quite noisy for my liking. And the overall tone just seemed lacking.

If it is the line 6 uber metal or the AMT Metalizer i can get it from mumbai but if i decide on something else, will have to get it down from the states.
