hey ppl....was jus surfin da net...came accross this guitar...neva heard of it...hmm n e 1 experienced it ?....looks pretty good to me... n it has pickups bolted inside itz body...ppl ur views on this guitar ??? https://www.line6.com/variax/overview.html
It has no pickup option.. According to what i read, it just incorporates a lot of guiatr models insdide the guitar itself.. It simulates everything from pickups, acoustic, electric models, etc etc... You can change patches using a knob.. So thats more like it..
I've played one It doesnt have amp modelling..it has guitar modelling IE you can flick the knob and a strat sound, LP sound etc will come (in theory) It also comes with a cool software called Workbench in which you can change woods, pickups, pockup positions etc. If you use Line 6 fear with it (ie Vetta, Pod), you can save the guitar model with the patch. It uses piezo pickups and has vaious models with tremolo, without etc. THey are all made in Korea btw. The guitar I played was setup ok but ive heard some are not so good. (bad fretwork etc)
It must be good in studio if you want to model a strat or any other type of guitar. It has a knob like a volume knob but instead of numbers from 1 to 10 it has guitars ,strat to sitar. I think the main problem with this would be that even if it sounds like a particular guitar it wont feel like it. But i think it's possible to change the neck. Warmoth offers strat shaped body carved out sothat it'll fit the variax mechanical parts.
