i have been thru some other threads ... quite informative ...

 

Legato are lines where you play notes by hammer ons and pull offs without picking. They sound very fluid and smooth and you can play some real rapid sounding stuffs.

can u classify trills also into legato technique?

 

Trills can be picked or played Legato. This term is derived from Ligado which in Classical Guitar meant a hammer on or a pull off technique. A picked note was called Stocato but today in Rock Context stocato means short notes.
