Everyone knows that Les Paul (Gibson) is one of the most famous guitars around for so many years now. But, Epiphone and Gibson are not dealing with their products in India. So, I wanted to ask you guys about Les Paul styled guitars (Cort, Ibanez, GB, ESP etc.) which are available in India and kindly advise which LP styled guitar, in your knowledge is the best ???
Greg Bennett What do you think about AV-1 or AV-3 ??? And in general, does Greg Bennett make good guitars ???
I tried a AV-3 in the store and wasn't very impressed... Try out the PRS Mark tremontti SE or Single Cut SE.. I liked them much better.
dude.comeon epiphone is easily available in delhi..bhargavas,onstage,furtados,,i saw some at bhargavas,,epiphones the best if ur going for les paul style guitars..starts at 19k...nor go for greg bennett,,i also like esp eclipse very much...dats gonna b my next guitar.
Onstage stocks Epiphones? @The thread starter.. I think Greg Bennetts would be good for low cost LP style. They have the versatility of a Gibson to quite an extent. Otherwise, there is a company known as HMI. They have guitars just the same as Gibson, you can't differentiate between a Gibson and an HMI till you see the headstock and hear the sound. Don't know about their specifications but they are decent enough..
Sorry to disappoint you, dude ... No guitar shop in the whole of Delhi stocks Epiphones ... I have checked everywhere, but no one stocks Epiphones as per my knowledge, not even Bhargava's ... I'd rather buy it from somewhere else anyway, it'll be too expensive to buy in India ... Only Bajaao has some Epi's on their site
GB AV7 is what I'd go for, without- a doubt, much cheaper than epiphones comparable to their upper-midrange. The epi les paul custom on bajaao looks amazing- but 38k, I'd rather get an AV7 Black Beauty/BloodBurst and upgrade as I see fit- maybe burstbucker copies or something. To wylder- what did you dislike about the GBs? Personally I've found them to have great sustain and a VERY comfortable neck- didn't find anything in the ~20k range that had a neck that felt like butter... then again I haven't tried the PRS.
GB Avion series if you're on a budget... No arguments In my humble opinion, Greg Bennett makes really good guitars, I've never really played any GB so far and thought "that doesn't sound good". PRS is a mixed bag, some are good, some are crap... And the good ones tend to be expensive.
I got a ESP LTD ec401VF, loaded with SD JB/59 . Solid Mahogany, good neck, loads of sustain. i got it used including a hard case for a pretty good price in bangkok. left by some foreigner who ran out of cash!
hey!!!! have u guys checkd out - KRAMER ASSAULT 220 FR ??? nice guitar!! LES PAUL styled FLOYD ROSE tremolo. check it out...in black or whote..both look ***y. it may cost around 30000rs or less
Epiphone guitars are good but there pickups are crappy. The first thing to consider when modifying a Epiphone is to replace the pickup with original pickups from Gibson. Apart from pickups, the Epiphone sound is way better than a commonplace guitar like Squier Strat or something along the line.
also, check out the J&D Les Paul Copies if you find them somewhere. Rumors say they are the OEM for Epiphone. Having played both, i can say they are pretty close. Just, both of them need a pick up swap. I've a bolt on one but you get set neck models too but would need to look for them. Swapped the pick ups with a Seymour Duncan JB & SH2N. Pretty set.
