    i am a bit confused. what does "hinsuatani classical music .... (keyboard)" mean??

    i am learning vocal classical music for quite some time and it is quite a wonderful experince if you can back it up with some good listening taste.

    that causes even more bewilderment because i thought hindusthani classical was either vocal or played on the indian classical instruments e.g. sitar, sarod etc.

    Hindustani is North Indian style of classical Music....South Indian is Carnatic....which can be quite different in terms of swaras and terminologies....:)...i like both ...but i'm too lazy to actually learn either....:)

    bhai......
    classical music is also played on harmonium..isn't it???

    @light of erindi
    ya u r right
    they r a lot diff....
    carnatic music has a entirely diff approach
    it has 15 swaras or notes instead of 12(7 pure + 5 sharps)

    ya but it never gets recognition as a standalone instrument. it is used mainly in sangat. though people like montu banerjee and jyoti goho give solo concerts people rarely appreciate them.
