Processor which i have... just to share with yeah ppl ... one of my fav patch on it: Amp SIM: US HI GAIN Gain: 6 to 10 (depends on how much "chugging" power i want) Level: 6 Treble: 4 Mid: 5 Bass: 9 I usually add some delay of 350 to 400ms to it ... keeping the feedback around 7 and mix at 5 or 6 nothing more as modulation i add the cabinet simulator 4x12 @ 5 so that it does a little sublte EQing ... makes it a little smoother some times i add wah on pedal - sometimes i use the pedal only for vilume control reagarding the noise gate - by deafult it is on 5, however to get those squeals with killer feedback n sustain - switch it off; true it increases the noize and hum (too bad my guitar is single coil) but then u get feedback n sustain and i keep the pickup selector (near the power supply port) on high output (which supposedly emulates humbucker driven amp)
My current favourite is my Keeley Modded Boss BD2 Blues Driver. This Rondall Stack increases the warmth and sustain a lot, so I dont feel like using AMTs. The Gain is about 3/4th at 3 o clock. The Tone knob is about 9 o clock. That;s it. I roll down the guitar volume for clean playing and keep the volume to full for crunch.
Who said it's similar sounding. I might sell of the AMTs. Not decided though. But have this thought. Maybe I will get a Keeley Fuzz Head and a Tube Screamer.
Get it soon ... by similar sounding i menat that u have AMT Fatal as well as Calif - and both are almost similar sounding (u wrote that somewhere in feedback : )
I dont want to use such high gain distortions. Low Gain ones have more tone. I wanna play Pop. Looking for some Female Vocals based Pop Band who can sing Janis Joplin :nw: :nw: , Bangles, Cyndie Lauper, Heart, Pat Benetar and stuffs like that.
Awright the earlier patch i posted will be mostly new age thrash kinda sound, for the more conventional metal thing i usually use the following: Amp Sim: British Stack Gain: 4 (for grating sound) 9 for smooth n creamier distortion Treble: 4 Mid: 2 Bass: 9 Level: 5-7 (arbitrary - depends on amp volume) I would not prefer any delay on this, coz the nude (ie without any added FX) sounds much tighter ... and u can play muted riffs i would sometimes add some chorus ... but then that kinda takes the grunt outta the tone. i dont like to put any cab simulator on this - otherwise it again takes the grunt out of the tone.
Next Razor thin Distortion patch just like Dimebag Darrel Amp Sim: Metal Gain: 8.5 - 9 Treble: 10 Mid: 1 Bass: 7 Level: 7 Keep the modulation: reverse wah on at minimum level, or u can put the Wah on pedal and keep the wah fully open ... wil sound really thin n piercing ... and the autowah keeps the chuggin tone also good b.t.w. this setting makes the pinch harmonics really squeal out ... (if u want more volume to your pinch harmonics u will hav to increase your MIDS) use 2x12 cabinet simulator ... it will blow your ears off (somehow the EQ on 2x12 cab sim makes it too metallic sounding)
AX100G sux, although they say some REMS crap, it doesnt emulate anything properly. Infact they haven't even put the names of amp sims properly like keeping British Stack for Marshall. HAHAHAHA Are they afraid or what?
My Fav Patch....
