Ok... since i didnt see anymore of Kabira coming. I thought let me put this kabira 2 reloaded. Doha for the day...

Pothi Padh Padh Kar Jag Mua, Pandit Bhayo Na Koye
Dhai Aakhar Prem Ke, Jo Padhe so Pandit Hoye

Reading books everyone died, none became any wise
One who reads the word of Love, only becomes wise

Kabir shows us the way in his simple but dynamic style. He daringly says that despite all our readings, despite all our knowledge, we cannot become wise. Only if we 'read' Love, become loving and loveable, only then wisdom will dawn on us. Only then Life will be worth living.

My interpretation of it is that no matter how much you study, how many books you read. But there will be certain knowledge left ... certain paths untreaded... certain reality unknown... you remain incomplete. And when you fall in love, you learn those lessons which even the books didnt / couldnt teach you. Every day in love teaches you a new lesson. Its a discovery every day. It opens the door to the unknown. It completes you !!

This is what i wrote on the same lines...

Ek andhiyara reh gaya, padhe jo paath sant
Prem jo padhne baithiye paye gyan anant

C'mon people... chip in your views !! :)

I dont know what kabir actually meant but I dont interpret it like "fall in love".
To me, emphasis is not on getting engaged in love with a girl rather having soft corner in your heart for all people. Its the way how you treat other humans.

Yah obviously it doesnt mean just being inlove with one gal/ boy. (no i m not promoting polygamy !!)
As you said.. its more about being in love with the whole community in general. With every living being. :)
I m sorry if my explanation wasnt as clear.

    CrYpTiC_angel Rebelle!

You quite obviously meant the "guy-girl falling in love" thing initially.

But it's good you got what amit was saying.

I think "prem" here means something like "love and respect towards all".

    bringing back the thread....

Kal Kare So Aaj Kar, Aaj Kare So Ub
Pal Mein Pralay Hoyegi, Bahuri Karoge Kub

Do tomorrow's work today, today's work now
if the moment is lost, then how will you do the work

kuch kahane ki zaaroorat nahi hai...its quite explainatory..isn't?

    Another famous one...

Bura Jo Dekhan Main Chala, Bura Naa Milya Koye
Jo Munn Khoja Apnaa, To Mujhse Bura Naa Koye

I searched for the crooked, but could not find a single one
When searched within myself, "I" found myself as crooked one
