Hi everybody ! I have been living in France and will study 6 months in India from October to March 2010. I play the guitar (folk and electric) and I listen to a lot of music, mostly independent rock, but also soul/funk, blues, jazz and hip/hop. I would like to learn a lot about Indian music, from traditional to modern styles. At the moment, my only references are Ravi Shankar, Shujaat Khan and Mother Jane… pretty light isn’t it ? Could you please recommend to me both traditional and modern artists/bands that can not be ignored? Thank you very much for your help and keep rocking !
