That is mainly because Bad Monkey is more versatile. + some retards who buy tubescreamer, expecting it to sound like scooped-mid metal distortion like Megadeth or Metallica. Ofcourse they will crib about its gain and tone.
TS-7 is approx 3500 TS-9 (reissue) is approx 4500 TS-808 (original) is not available RATM is very low gain tone. Any podal at less gain and high volume can work (yeah even Bad Monkey) For Megadeath, the cheapest (and most readily accesible) will work out to be Boss MT-2 (around Rs4800) or Digitech Metal Master (no idea). Though many ppl dont like the tone of stock MT-2. Sounds bit like a cocked wah and harsh on high treble. Try it for once. Dunno about Pin Drop Violence, those guys are in India, why dont you ask em directly which gear they use And post taht here too.
:0 :0 :0 :0 :0 :0 hmm good question...... or rather statement.... Why do they make them..... But people still buy them.....So for many they sound good...... I think Ibanez needs to get some HUGE ENDORSMENTS for their amps.. Well what I meant was ,: they are making a lot selling their so called "GOOD GUITARS " IMO.. They defintly wont make something more crapy then that..
+1 The bad monkey is versatile.... and yes many people buy stuff expecting the gear to work wonders.. when they have actualty bought the wrong stuff.. FOR EXAMPLE I remmber once somebody wanted to Buy the BOSS BLUES DRIVER as the only STOMP BOX to play metal ! Obvosiusly he wont like the Pedal for the music he wants to play.....
i got an mg15cd amp and with the gain setting to highest and overdrive setting medium i play get 'em off by PDV it sounds better than wat i expected but its not as heavy as they play
I agree with you on that all companies make crap guitars and good ones.. Yes Ibanez does make some good guitars.....But here is my main Q where would Ibanez be without all those huge Endorsments they have ? For the Price ( the lower end) they might be good...but There are Better Guitars, if not ecellent.....
Heavy and Hi-gain are actually different. Heavyness in tone/playing also comes with dynamics. See if your listener cannot make out whether you are pounding the strings or just caressing them, he wont be able to discriminate between heavy or light playing. Decrease your gain to 5 (12 o clock). Make your tone real scooped on mids and high on bass. Keep treble only as much to keep it sounding metallic. Use Palm Muting effectively. If you can't do this, then no matter what you won't sound heavy in metallic tone.
k so i shud do this wid my amp settings right: gain lvl=12 o clock position gain vol=same as above bass=high contour=? treble=12 o clock position
Ah well it is kinda absurd for me to give an EQ coz your guitar and pickups also contribute to it. But in general pretty much what you wrote. Make sure Contour (=mids) is less than treble, or else you will start sounding like Randy Rhoads.
