I wud be glad to help too...I am a Marwari but my Bengali is pretty fluent(though a bit rusty now that I dont stay in Kolkata most of the time).... But translating songs wud be slightly difficult...lyrics are not exactly day-to-day sentences or phrases.. @sonali y r u putting 'v' instead of 'bh' everywhere(valo instead of bhalo).. I know that bongs always pronounce 'v' as 'bh'... ..is tat the reason???
Yeah u said it Nebuchad-whatever ... i was wondering the same thing ... wassup with ur accent sonali ...?
Well here's one to all those who don't know the language and have been caught in Bong company .... Aami bangla jaani naa == I don't know Bengali ... and here's one with a little more of venom ... Rokto debo, bangla bolbo naa == I will rather give blood than speak bengali. pretty cool huh ??
 I dont think his mother will really approve of that  Would probably get me kicked out.
lyrics... sonali, thnks yaar.. apratim-mitra, here are the lyrics...i dont know how to thank you...it would mean a gr8 deal to me.. and i m sure she would love it.....i know all of it wont sound the same but...how ever it goes...it would really be nice... Phoolon Ka Taaron Ka Sabka Kehna Hai Ek Hazaron Mein Meri Behna Hai Sari Umar Hame Sang Rehna Hai Ye Na Jaana Duniya Ne Tu Hai Kyon Udaas Teri Pyaari Aankhon Mein Pyar Ki Hai Pyaas Aa Mere Paas Aa Keh Jo Kehna Hai Ek Hazaron Mein ... Jabse Meri Aankhon Se Ho Gayi Tu Door Tabse Sare Jeevan Ke Sapne Hain Choor Aankhon Mein Neend Na Dil Mein Chaina Hai Ek Hazaron Mein ... Dekho Hum Tum Dono Hain Ek Dali Ke Phool Maein Na Bhoola Tu Kaise Mujhko Gai Bhool Aa Mere Paas Aa Keh Jo Kehna Hai Ek Hazaron Mein ... thank you ..
actually my spelling isn't really that good, but since i'm writing words from another language, i didn't think there was a proper way of writing it.....and i always thought the "v" sound is the proper way of pronouncing the words....besides, i don't see any difference in the "bh" or "v" sounds when i say them..... can any one explain the differences in the sounds for me plz......
Well..let me try to xplain...I am sure u know how to pronounce Bhaarat(mera Bhaarat mahaan;-))...thats the 'bh'....the 'v' sound is same as in English...pronounced as in ...say,'Veer -Zaara'... wat I said earlier was..in Bong there is usually no 'v' sound...they always pronounce 'v' as 'bh'...:
