I NEEDED SOMEONE TO LOVE

I needed a voice,
I needed a hand,
I needed a friend
to just understand.

I needed an ear
to hear all I speak,
I needed strong arms
for when I felt weak.

I needed some humor
to bring me a smile,
I needed a shoulder
to lean on awhile.

I needed a hug
consolation in the dark,
I needed bandages
big enough to fit my heart.

I needed support
to talk me through the day,
I needed someone to love
god sent you my way.
