I have thought of a new idea

that was my dark cynical sarcastic suggestion that this is a bad idea..

I can come up with 150 blues songs that follow that chord progression..

the point here is that guitar tabs are not a formal way of transcribing music..
u cant tabulate even 1% of what u can do with staff notations.

The pre requisite for guitar tabs is that one should know the song, and should have heard it before.. and merely use the tabs as a playing guide.

Sight reading with tabs is a useless if not an impossible endeavour.

well @ tabs and staff notations : i guess its because tabs dont give sense of timing/ rests basically and also other effects as opposed to staff notations .....

is that any way to write timings in tabs that i am unaware of?? ... that should increase that 1% to atleast 10%

i guess finding simple melodies will work.. and thats what robteek meant.
but in many cases even those will be ambigous..

the mukda melody of zara zara is same as antara of yeh mera dil from don for eg

 

I think the best way to go is the competition already set up..that is everyone tries to tab out a song..and maybe the experts out there can tab their version of the same song and then compare the newbie version with the experts version..
its sounds great theoretically dont know if its practical!
but thats just me.
