ne body knows how to play flute? how does one start? what kinda flute to buy? ne help much appreciated
^ Lmfao. loll Well, the statement is true. I could play hindi songs on the flute the 1st day i tried it..playing is easy..but being perfect is hard tho. I could not sustain notes for a long time.
Even though i admit that some of the replies border on the edge of idiocy, i do have to ask you, how exactly do you think one can answer that question in understandable terms? Wouldnt it be much easier to google something up?

- wht r the pros/cons of steel/bamboo flute? - whts a good place to buy in mumbai? n of cos how do i play the darn thing - i mean like is there sumthin like if u partially cover the holes with ur fingers u get the flat/sharp notes or sumthin like that?
i did not play like the classical kind of flute the Flûte à bec is sth like this i had a yamaha one i think u had the notes like A B D C.... and u had one hole below hmmmm i kind of forgot most of the theory though......but can play some songs parts ....(played that when i was 14 and now i am 20) the last portion too u had a hole at the bottom i will try to look for the theory cbk i had n post it....

@aj well thanks for th link tho there's a slight problem of the lessons costing more than a flute ever will
You can buy flutes for 30-40 rs first go for one which you blow straight, as opposed to the indian classical flute that you blow sideways i think these flutes are each in a specific key like C or G and you can play only in that key I guess the western flutes are different
Yeh I don't like 'em jus coz they have one octave n' can be jus played in one key. Cmaj se tang aa gaya main.
