Downloading in torrents is based on how much you upload aka "Health" if you just keep downloading and dont upload your overall download speed will suffer.

err..u guys talking about kbps or kBps?...coz 100kBps bandwidth is just not available for a common(read affordable) home connection...I get anything from 2kBps to 22kBps (on my 256kbps ie max 32kBps connection)depending on the seeds etc....at my college I even reached 80kBps-100kBps on some popular torrents with lot of seeds coz that was a univ network with a few MBps of overall bandwidth...

Where were you nebu?? WE last talked at the IGT meet..:

Hmm.. neo is right. You should upload the same amount you download.. That is seeding i suppose. I don't use torrents. But have a one time experience though!!

i think it also depends on what sort of connection the seeder/leechers are on ..

In torrents...your download speed also depends upon the type of peers you are connected with...
If your peers are on slower connection or do not permit much upload bandwidth..you would get slower download speeds!

The usual solution to this is... just stop and restart your download... it would try to connect to different peers with large upload bandwidth..eventually giving you faster downloads!

And of course.. you need to allow upload inorder to download..

for torrents does the choice of software matters
