    Hi guys,
I am a neophyte in guitar. Most of the poost over here give info about the chord to be used and are greatly helpful. But as beginner I am never able to understand how can i determine te strumming pattern.

Can any one please help me by explaining the procedure of determing the strumming pattern.
The little I know, I can guess it goes somewhat by the beats but I am not sure how.

    Thanks in advance.

listen to a song many many times, u'll get a feel of that song.
actually strumming pattern has to follow the beats of the songs.

just listen to a song and pay attention to the background bass.the beats
and just let ur hand free on the guitar and try to follow the beat(not copy the beat).
u'll go wrong 3-4 times but keep trying

try concentrating on drum beats..i found this best approach... also try dividing it into 1 2 3 4 pattern .. try tapping with the song... try strumming mp3 lessons on www.songsandchords.com/lessons
