I wish I was in Seattle this Feb! Sonata Arctica are coming to perform. Gosh, when will they ever come to India! :annoyed:

The lineup includes - Sonata Arctica, Lyranthe, Waking Hour, Shadow Demon...

Waking Hour and Shadow Demon are decent bands as well. Hmm... Jayswami is currently in Waking Hour. Another guy I'm jealous of! He'll actually get to spend time with Sonata Arctica!

    Anybody from Seattle going?

yeah, I heard about this from Jayswami. So can someone give me album reccomendations for Sonata Arctica?

In other "coming to India" news, I read in the papers that John McLaughlin and Carlos Santana were coming to Calcutta and wet my pants.

Start with Ecliptica; that should familiarise you with their style.

Ecliptica, Silence, Winterhearts Guild - All three are superb...

Ecliptica is a good introduction to the band. Shows them in the raw mode

Silence is a better production and is considered by majority fans to be there finest album

Winterhearts Guild is techinically more sound and is my current favourite album of the band.

Reckoning Night is there latest album. Its decent and adds a new dimension to the SA sound.

One of the best albums in power/melodic metal....sad to see them go haywire with Reckoning Night
