Hi, How do I start playing guitar? You guys may feel bored of my question??? But I am confused with too many inputs from so many sources.. Could someone guide me as what is the better way to kick start playing guitar? Thanks, Somonath
first learn the basic... get yourself a good acoustic guitar and master the tabs... Don't go for electric at the beginning.
*LEARN WESTERN CLASSICAL GUITAR FROM SOMEWHERE* (like a Trinity College affiliated school. They're out there.) Cannot stress that enough. It contributes some great things to your musical learning, which you'll realise as you move on in guitar and see other self-taught guitarists. Unbeatable move. A basic classical (nylon string) guitar (Yamaha C70 is a good one for 10k, though cheaper things exist), a footstool (less than Rs 500) and admission to a western classical school (variable fee)...you're set. I still wish I had started (like, 5 years ago) by learning classical, but I didn't even know it existed. Oh well. Best of luck to you!
Get a good teacher to start with. Once you have your basics done, you can learn yourself from a lot a sources. I feel IGT is one of the best source you can rely on after doing your basics.
