    Hotel California Chords with Lyrics
I Hope U will not find better than this :D (Enjoy)

[Bm]On a dark desert highway, [F#]cool wind in my hair
[A]Warm smell of colitas, [E]rising through the air
[G]Up ahead in the distance, [D]I saw a shimering light
[Em]My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim, [F#]I had to stop for the night

[Bm]There she stood in the doorway, [F#]I heard the mission bell
[A]And I was thinking to myself: this could be [E]heaven or this could be hell
[G]Then she lit up a candle [D]and she showed me the way
[Em]There were voices down the corridor; [F#]I thought I heard them say:

    "[G]Welcome to the Hotel Califor[D]nia
    [F#]Such a lovely place (such a lovely place), such a [Bm]lovely face
[G]Plenty of room at the Hotel Califor[D]nia
Any [Em]time of year (any time of year), you can [F#]find it here"

[Bm]Her mind is Tiffany twisted, [F#]she got the Mercedes Benz
[A]She got a lot of pretty, pretty boys, [E]that she calls friends
[G]How they dance in the courtyard, [D]sweet summer sweat
[Em]Some dance to remember, [F#]some dance to forget

[Bm]So I called up the captain, "[F#]Please bring me my wine", He said
    [A]"We haven't had that spirit here since [E]nineteen sixty-nine"
[G]And still those voices are calling from [D]far away
[Em]Wake you up in the middle of the night, [F#]just to hear them say:

    "[G]Welcome to the Hotel Califor[D]nia
    [F#]Such a lovely place (such a lovely place), such a [Bm]lovely face
They [G]livin' it up at the Hotel Califor[D]nia
What a [Em]nice surprise (what a nice surprise), bring your [F#]alibis"

[Bm]Mirrors on the ceiling, [F#]the pink champagne on ice, and she said
"[A]We are all just prisoners here, [E]of our own device"
[G]And in the master's chambers, [D]they gathered for the feast
[Em]They stab it with their steely knives but they [F#]just can't kill the beast

[Bm]Last thing I remember, I was [F#]running for the door
[A]I had to find the passage back to the [E]place I was before
[G]"Relax," said the night man, "We are [D]programmed to receive
[Em]You can check out any time you like, but [F#]you can never leave"

Could anyone please put up the strumming pattern for this? I tried most of the things I know and most things I could cook up, but it does not seem appropriate. I know, it has been done many times by the Eagles, and can be played in many ways, but could someone tell me an easy one? I am a newbie and I do not have much proficiency, but any strumming pattern would help.

DrSaurabh- You are right! However the capo at 7th fret effectively makes the Em sound like Bm an octave higher. Moreover the original version is played on double neck 12 string electric with the capo at 7th fret. The unplugged version is played normally in the Bm sequence- Cheers!!

Please tell me bout CAPO ?
Whats the meaning of capo at 7th fret /

Well lemme explain. Capo (short for Capodastra) is basically a clamp like device which can be fitted on the fretboard at any position as needed. It is used to shorten the length of the strings, thereby effectively raising the pitch. An example would be in order. lets say this particular song is in Bm. Usually you would play Bm at the 4th position with a Barre. In case you can't U use a capo at the 2nd fret and play the Bm like a Am. This Am would effectively sound like Bm. It is actually a sort of crutch for beginners. The other uses are

    - The guitar pitch can be effectively raised without tightening the strings.
    - Some chord sequences are more easy flowing in some key than the others.
However if you want to follow the same sequence in a different key than a capo can be used.

get one at a music store and it is pretty cheap. Then u may experiment. Watch the eagles video of hotel california. You will get the idea. The Intro of Hotel california is played in Em-B7-D sequence. With a Capo at the 7th fret it would sound like a Bm sequence. Or try playing Bm at the 9th position. It is the same thing

One of the Bob dylon's many version of the song blowing in the wind he uses a capo and plays in G formation whereas it actually sounds like D. why because it is difficult to play a running bass if u use the actual D chord

Another place you might encounter this is staff notation when u come to a bar which has Da Capo written on top. It means from the begining or from the head. So that is what capo means in Italian "Head" . Hope this satisfies you

@Ambush. yeah there is no way to change that sequence. Ofcourse you can play in any key depending on your voice and expertise. Well Happy Valentine everyone.
