    Guys,

    Hey, so heres the deal i have 90 days if holiday, so instead of parking my @ss somewhere i am gonna hot rod an electric.

    I wanna put a mini processor in an electric. nd stuff like that.
    You know anyplace where i can get a second hand electric?

    Also i need to get a cheap acoustic (possible second hand) and i would do a re set up and a paint job and gift it to my gf! (If it comes out great)

    So i need help regd.

    -Putting FX inside an electric.
    -which paint to use on acoustic??
    -Does any store sell second hand stuff??
    -Will a store do a paint job for me?? (Not a straight paint job, it's art)
    -Estimate price of everything afforementioned!

    I'm Rasik. :)

    And i'll try my best.
    The round thing is a stereo jack.
    You'll have to replace the mono jack in normal guitars with that to instasll an effect so that it doesn't use the battery when the plug is pulled out.
    It has 3 letters around it.
    T = tip
    R = ring
    S = sleeve

    Guitar out (on the left board) is the guitar signal output from the pickup selector switch.
    Guitar GND is ground.
    SPDT is a single pole double throw switch.
    Easily available at lamington road.

    Circuit in is obviously the inpuit of the effect you want to wire in.
    (I suggest you start with something easy....like a fuzz.)

    Ckt ground is also pretty obvious.
    You'll also need a battery cavity in the guitar.

    I suggest you abandon your dreams of a proximity wah and Kaoss pad temporarily.
    If you buy the scrap guitar, give me a call and we could meet up.
    I might be able to help.
    I havent done this myself but i'm fairly confident i can.
    (and i also dont have the money to buy another guitar right now....im saving up for a custom fuzz.)

    where are you from??
    n can you gimme an estimate?
    as in i want inbuilt distortion, kill switch and infinite sustain!
    n i never said anything about a Kaoss pad!

    I'm not a 100% sure.
    Unet::

    At Alberto's, they charged me Rs.300 for labour to install pickups, capacitor, new pot, nut.
    Rs.300 X 2 for alpha pots and Rs. 250 for the nut. (Pickups were mine)

    The switch wouldnt be expensive....all you need is a simple SPDT.
    Rs.3 at Lamington Road.
    They (music shop) *might* have high quality ones and charge more.
    Im guessing Rs.100

    For labour, its a very simple hot-switch-ground solder connection, so lets say another Rs.100 for labour.

    For distortion, killswitch....if you're doing it yourself, itll be very cheap.
    Rs.200 MAX for both included.
    Assuming you buy your stuff at Lamington Road (MUMBAI!!)
    For distortion, you'll need:
    PCB, components, solder, soldering iron, switch, wire

    For killswitch you'll need a switch and some wire.
    It's an estimate. Might vary quite a bit.

    Harsh, if youre experimenting on a guitar, you should be able to do these two quite easily with some basic soldering knowledge.

    The thing is, there is a huge electronics market at my hometown. So i can learn a lot from there.

    I have never done anything like this before. But i have 90 days of free time, better learn something.

    If i ask a technician to teach me, do you think he would charge a lot!
    I just need assistance as i dont want it to be done by anyone else!

    n one more thing,
    my frns openion is that if i have to mod a guitar than it should be somethin standard, like an Aria or a Java.

    I am thinkin of getting a Yemaha or Givson!
    What say??

    I doubt a tech would charge much.

    Any crappy guitar would be fine....you're just doing this to get used to the inner workings of a guitar.

    Also, i suggest you refinish with a killer paint job so you can hang it up somewhere.
