Vitz, Welcome to the forums ! I hope you do find a lot of useful information here. Hop around the site a bit. The "C" is not a scale but a key. I believe the scale you are playing is the major scale, since that corresponds to the "Sare ga ma.." progression. The same "scale" can be played in different "keys" by shifting the pattern up and down the fretboard.
