The third string on my guitar becomes damaged very easily ie thecopper windings on it starts to break and unwind itself in places is this common or is it because of faluty strings Or is it because of my guitar, its kind of small.
there can be many reasons .. 1. the strings are of low quality 2. the wire wounded on the core is very small guage 3. the frets are sharp 4. if you do bends .. then there is a good chance that the string would get damaged .. in short .. its all natural .. change strings ever so often.
@ambush .. Third string is da one which is broken most frequently compared to other strings .. Go for an uncoated (unwound) third string .. juz tell the shopkeeper to give u an uncoated 3rd string .. coz in India .. donno y .. but even da third string by default in a new guitar has a coated string .. so .. go for electro spanish string .. uncoated .. n u'll notice da change nJOY!
the G string for accoustic is wounded most of the time .. the G string of "electric" guitars is the one which is not wounded .
