I recently moved to a different location with all my guitar equipment except my amp.So im plannin to plug my processor to a 2.1 or 5.1 speakers to substitute for an amp and also act as my speakers for laptop :D

    I wanna know
    1) Even though speakers may not be best replacement for an amp, can it give convincing sound (at least close to ? :) ) considering it has a sub woofer and all that?
2)Can u suggest me a set of good 2.1 or 5.1, i heard altec lansing is fair choice

I play mostly metal, if that helps :)

    Thanks in advance !

i havent heard philips for a good 2.1 system, surely will try it out. But my main concern is the sound 2.1 vs An actual Amp!!?

Though nothin can replace an amp.. its jus a substitute...
