Help required on Home Theater System

Hi friends,
I'm planning to buy a Home theater system for my home; but not able to finalize the system. The usage of this system will be for music and movies. My hall size is 12 x 17 where this system will be installed. I'm considering Sony (Esp. DAV-DZ340K which is 1000 Watts RMS).
Please suggest how much Watt power is suitable for room size 12 X 17; And also suggest the system which would give quality sound.

 

Why don't you put down you budget also?


And if you wish to seek quality sound then no sony, panasonic, samsung etc - these are mass consumer goods makers.
And you must look beyond the premium marketing companies like Bose, Onkyo etc.

1st of all don't go by the wattage of these Home theatre in a box devices (HTIB).

2nd check out a forum called Hifivision.com
