    Humidifier

If you are purchasing an expensive guitar and live in a place where the climate is dry, invest in getting a humidifier. I picked up a planet waves acoustic guitar humidifier for my guitar for $15 Canadian. For me having to endure cool dry winters and variable summers, a humidifier is a basic necessity that is commonly overlooked for acoustics. A humidifier maintains constant humidity for the wood of a guitar to prevent warps and cracks on the body from dry air.

If you buy an acou/elec, make sure you try out the pickup by plugging into an amp. Spending so much on a guitar with a shitty amp isnt the greatest idea; you'd be better off buying a plain old acoustic and buying a sound hole mounting pickup instead, which some people say sound better than the common piezo pickup (under the saddle; piezos pick up the vibration of the top of your acoustic and translate that to sound using quartz crystal).

Enjoy your new guitar, i just got a new Simon and Patrick CANADIAN MADE. the best acoustic i've picked up, and cost me under $800 CAD.
