I brought a guitar last month, from Lajpat nagar (Delhi), my tutor told me its good, i have started my guitar classes but been in Xth class (CBSE) i dont get time to attend my classes, but i am really intrested in playing it. i have got a electronic tuner onto my pc which is working good for now, and i use Guitar Pro 5, to learn a couple of songs.. but i still cant understand sometimes stuff like

    whats a dead note 'X'
    and

    whats the differnce between playing,

    ------6--------
    ---5-----------

    or
    -------6-------
    -------5-------

are there any good online guides which can be used for learning over the net, or anything that i am doing wrong here..

    thanks for reading!

Dead note: you muffle the string with your left finger. And then pick. You will hear only percussive sound like "thik" or "thak" depepnding on your guitar tone.

    ------6--------
    ---5-----------
means you first play teh 5th fret, then the 6th fret.

    -------6-------
    -------5-------
means you play BOTH 5th as well as 6th fret, simultaneously

Here, download the zip file from here: https://www.sendspace.com/file/4lwohb

It has two midi files (can be played on windows media player too).

    First one is dead.mid
    which is
    e-----
    b----x
    g---x-
    D--x--
    A-x---
    E-----

Second one is 56.mid, which is:
    e-----------
    b---6---6---
    g-5-----5---
