Basic Funda : Do is yourself

Since you are a newbie and since its impossible to write down the entire music theory in this post, I will stick to major chords first:

    (origin/root note) - 2 - 2 - 1 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 1

    Got it?

Start on any string, any fret (choose close to nut) and "note the note." This will be the root note of the scale ( eg - As C for C major scale / E is for E major scale). Now, move 2 frets to get to the next note of that major scale. Again, +2 for next; again +1 for next....

    Write down all the notes.

Choose an area on the neck of the guitar where you are comfortable (choose closer to the nut or the middle at first).

Start with the 6th (thickest) string and locate the root note on it.

Move along the string to find the next 1 pr 2 notes and then move to the next string below till you get back to the root note.

But...don't stop there.....go on again from the root note on the lower string in that 2212221 fashion till you reach the 1st string.

Keep notes and make your own....

Post it here so that we can check if you got the funda....(It IS complicated I know, but read the whole thing and then give it a shot).
