Folks,, I have got 12,000 bucks. Not a Penny More. I want to buy a elec guitar, amp and that effect box so that I can get the sound that santana, slash get from their guitars. Please give ur valuable suggestions. Thanks, DHiM
VAmp Pro for the effect box I think Which leaves you no money for an amp (use headphones) and GB&A guitars
For Rs.12,000 if you could find out a way that will make you sound like Santana or Slash, please let me know. I will tell Santana and Slash to sell their expensive stuffs in eBay and they can buy the same thing what you have. :think:

muhuhahaha ron u gave this same comment to some n00bs thread which said i want my guitar to sound like Metallica and Linkin Park - to which i said get yourself a KORG and i can help you ... and your reply was same :RollLol: annyway dude u got two diff schools here: Slash means u should have Marshall 800 kinda sound ... and Santana means u want the Mesa Boogie overdrive sound ... not possible with a single effect ...
on second thoughts for the "tone" or "sound" as u put it the most important thing is: 1. EQ 2. Amplifier 3. Effect 4. Guitar in that order now amp u cannot get a tube-Marshall or Boogie with that amount but u can surely get solid state marshall and tube-eumulators (digital thingies that do DSP) or stomp box (analog version of emulators) slash sound u migt get easily ... but not the Sanatana sound ... anyway try KORG Pandora PX4 (that is supposed to emulate a lots asounds) ... or for that matter any processor u might be able to emulate the sound u wanted. Hey Ron ... i found out one more thing ... the processor can make a single coil sound like a humbucker and vice-versa too and what if i dont like santana's or slash's style of playing but only the tone they get?
No no..usually the thinking is ...Let me get the gear and the playing will follow Buying the gear is easier than practicing 10 hours a day after all I remember my first guitar..you could slide a sandwich under the strings but after a point improvements in gear are marginal

Pickup modelling is not a new concept. I remember Boss GT8 has it. Somebody showed me and I was like :annoyed: . No nothing replaces a humbucker and nothing replaces a single coil. @Jekyll. Nothing replaces a Boogie Man either.
^^ ofcourse but then i can get that breaky tweedy sound from single coil as well as smoother and creamier dist (like humbucker) works well for low budget : dhim yaar lets take your budget Rs12K: 1. get a humbucker guitar from Givson (buy it only if u really low on money), Tansen, <--- those are indian companies and their guitars are cheaper will be maximum 9K 2. have heard that GB&A and Comet are good value for money - u could try them too 3. so u would be having now 5K left (guitar on the average will be 7K) 4. with u can buy Marshall MG CD 10/15/20 etc ... depends on your budget plan B would be to buy a Roland Cube for around 7K and cut donw on guitar to around 5K there u have the setup for 12K
