Just listen to the song. It ain't rocket science.

Also, do you learn from a teacher?

I'm also new to IGT. But I am watching tabs for a long time.

As far as my observation goes you can't figure oout the strumming pattern in a song by looking at the tabs. You will have to figure it out yourself.

If you have learnt guitar then you should be able to understand that where the change of chords take place in the song. Understanding that will solve the problem of strumming to a great extent. After you get the right chords from the tabs, listen to the song and figure it out that which rhythm fits in between the chords.

    try this
in some tabs (im not sure about this forum) the stumming is put in ontop of the tab:
    \/ \/ \ \ \
----------------
----------------
-55-55-5-5-5/2-
-55-55-5-5-5/2-
-33-33-3-3-3/0-
----------------

so that would be down up, down up, down, down, down and a slide to finish
    does that make sense?
anyone know if that is right?
i guess the easiest way to find out is ask the tabber to put it in for you
