Hi can some one suggest a good electric guitar for playing metal. Mostly will be playing Metallica, GnR etc. Other genres that will be played are like Nirvana. Price constraint - Rs. 15000. I'm in Mumbai so have access to both Bhargavas and Furtados. How is Ibanez GRG170DX. I've been playing acoustic for about 3 months.
    Thanks

    Nirvana- metal?

Anyway, I've been finding out about electric guitars myself lately, and have been told that Yamaha Pacifica is the best in it's price range, which means it's better than the Ibanez you're talking abt. Do check out what others have to say, though.

Listen to "DIVE" from the incesticide album.

And whoever said a pacifica or other strats type guitars are not good for metal can lick balls.

Man RATM played metal on telecasters!

For metal you just need a hi-gain pedal/amp.

Pickups / woods / crap doesnt really matter as much as that.

How about ESP LTD EC-50 Electric Guitar [ESPLTDEC50]. Bajaao lists it at Rs.14,800. People in Mumbai, can u tell who usually has cheaper prices, Bhargavas, Furtados or Bajaao.
    Thanks

    To Varun... a grg150dx with emg 81=hietfield?
why not just buy a 3k givson.. put a dimebucker and emg81 and sound like dimebag and hietfield for cheaper.. try it out.. im sure ur gonna love the sound..
plus ur getting sounds of 2 different artists on a single guitar..

you can actually get pretty close to hetfiled's tone doing that, provided you use a hi-gain metal pedal/amp.
    Haha

ofcourse playability of Givsons do suck!
