Help me to get started

Can anyone help me to get started?
All that I have is just a new guitar. I don't really know where to start.

I managed to get to know the Sapta Swaras (Sa, Ri, Ga, Ma, ...) on guitar.

And I think what I need is the Tabs (play with single string at a time), not Chords (multiple strings). Most of the guitar lessons I find on net are based on Chords.

I may be wrong in defining the Tabs and Chords.
Can someone guide me?
