    I just joined the forum, this is the second tab that i am looking at. I appreciate ur effort, but really, do all your guitars have only one string?!!! The B string? Instead of doing a marathon on the B string, why don't you use the other strings? After all isn't that why a guitar has six strings?

    Going back to the basics. In standard EADGBE tuning,
    Starting from the 6th string the bass E,
    5th fret on E ==> open A (String 5)
    5th fret on A ==> open D (String 4)
    5th fret on D ==> open G (String 3)
    4th fret on G ==> open B (String 2)
    5th fret on B ==> open e (String 1)

    Using the above knowledge:
    Lets say x is any fret on 'B' (string #2),
    if x is greater that 4, then a same sound can be produced on 'x-5' fret of string 'e' (string #1).
    If x is less than 5, then a same sound can be produced on '4+x' fret of string G (string #3).

    Here's your reformatted tab:

    GUM HAI KISI KE PYAR MEIN

    G- - - - - - 7-7-7-7-
    B-6-5-6-5---------
    Gum hai kisi ke pyar mein

    G- - - - - - - - - -
    B-3- - - - - - - - -
    e- - 0-1 -3 -1-0
    Dil subha shaam

    G- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 6-
    B-5-5-5-- -5-7-5-5-5--
    e- - - - - -7 - - - - - - - - - -
    Par tumhe likh nahin paun

    G- - 6 - - - - -
    B-5- -5-7-7-
    e- - - - - - - -
    Main uska naam

    G- - - - - - - - - - - -
    B- - - - - - - - - --
    e- 5 4 4 5 7 7 -4 - -
    Hai Ram…Haaai Raaam…

    Hmm.. I haven't heard this song in a while, but I think
    that the song is more or less completely on the F scale...

    Cutlu actually has a good point. Playing on different strings
    has another advantage - sometimes you would want the guitar
    to humm the the previous note, while striking a new one.
    This gives the song lead a continuity.
    And in such cases using a different string is perhaps the only
    possiblity.

    That said, I guess it also depends on the speed and how
    comfortable the player is with moving fingers between
    strings.

    Everyone to his/her own liking :).

    @pree...melody sound perfect and please take newbie suggestion that will help youa lot.

    @cut..your efforts are awesome, i love that you have used atleast 2 strings and your melody sounds perfect to me as well. Just one suggestion that on paper we write the guitar's thinest string as the top line...so the order is
    e
    B
    G
    D
    A
    E

  20. lol dude....

    I mean,I seriously didn't know that people like you,who are so committed to perfection still exist.
    Thousands of people might have played this song,but never geared up to post their versions...
    some people might even say that your version is almost exactly similar to the first post except you play it one octave higher on a different scale...
    But, Great work...
    I think that the last relevant post in this thread was more than 7 years ago, so their music/tabs are quite outdated.

    Please keep up the good work and tab the stanzas too (anthras).

    regards,
    Abhay
