Hi, Im sorry if this is a duplicate thread. Im relatively new here and havent had the time to go through all the threads just yet.

Recently, I bought a J&D electric guitar(3 months back). But the problem I face is that after every 5 mins, the tuning on the guitar drops by itself.Im a beginner, so I have no idea why this happens or how it can be rectified.

    Help.

Because your strings must be new.

Torture your strings by pulling them hard. Infact, try hanging the guitar by holding one string and suspending the guitar.

Once the strings get streched enough, they "set" and don't change tuning as often.

    No mate,
The strings are not new. I know that new strings take time to set in :)
This problem has been there for a month now with the same set of strings

Well if you never stretch the strings - they would lose tuning even after 1 year.

There is no other reason for perpetual tuning drops.
Your neck length won't be changing so much (even though heat and moisture do change it).

Atleast try the stretch for few minutes.
If it doesnt stay even after all that, then there might be stuff at bridge/tuning pegs to look into.
