Was just wondering...every1 I know who can play guitar also smokes (even all the guitar teachers I came across ) So just wanted to dig out how true can this be .... Is it that some of us get over influenced by watching Kurt Kobain and Slash smoke or its an influence of the Purani Jeans song... ????????? or whatever ..or is it that I have a wrong impression? The qn is NOT why you smoke or whether or not u smoke -- the question is: does smoking happen quite easily/naturally for guitarists? ps: I do smoke
man u r ****ing right all my guitar playing friend somke even i man even my sir used somke and one more thing all guitar playing people were something in the left hand(braclets etc)
NO. Its always a choice. Not all guitarists smoke. And being a guitarist doesnt make the choice any 'easy'. Thats nonsense..

i too dont smoke and i despise those who do. they not only injure themselves but also others around them and the environment.
My friend who taught me guitar smoked.....I smoke.....but that friend has now quit smoking.....so I guess its not necessary.
NONSENSE conclusion ... if it was an argument then it was fallacious ... i dont smoke ... but i play guitar ... or rather i play guitar yet i dont smoke ...
sixstringsin...must've reached this conclusion coz he must've seen too many guitarists around him who smoke..so its obvious to think so same is wid many guitarists who are into heavy metal and other headbanging genres of music ..they are badly in2 doping, boozing, body piercing and tattoing etc,... it maybe a stereotype but its very commong among em...so same is wid smoke...but exceptions are always there
Ever heard about the band in Pune,... Nemesis? They were chosen as the best band in the Rock Idols last year from Pune. They play some heavy numbers,..... they grow hair, beards, they bang heads,........ u know wat????................. they dont dope. Get the picture clear, its just what one chooses to do, guitar n smoke rnt related in any way.
