Boogies sound like as if they are covered under thick carpet compared to a Marshall.

Hughes & Kettner or Diezel amp for me.

 

Looking into my crystal ball, I see years of marital discord for you in the future. I can foresee your wife asking you to choose between her or your gear, hmmm, difficult times ahead man.

 

How about Diezel or ENGL or Framus. I've heard they're quite good as well.

On a related note, my Philips 2.1 hi-fi speakers sound much crisper than a Stranger Cube 20M. So there.

@yazi: What sound are you looking for? How about a cheap 15W-30W tube combo for bedroom/small gig use? All that money should be well spent. And I hate combos. And 30 W is ok if its an entire tube based amp. Not a SS.
