So am I allowed to take my guitar as Cabin baggage? I'm going to Delhi and want to take my guitar and checking it in is not an option. Any help is appreciated. I called the Airport and they said that they cannot gaurantee that security will not object yet they probably will not.
Well, I think it is allowed in flights within India. You won't be allowed your guitar for UK. I recently came back from Kolkata and had taken my guitar with me and they had no objection. Just don't have anything more than your guitar piks and strings etc. Not sure about an electric guitar though. Btw, I had taken it as hand baggage, not cabin baggage.
Isn't hand baggage and cabin baggage the same thing? erk, if it isn't, I suppose I meant hand baggage.
Cabin and hand baggage is the same thing. As far as the thread goes, my guitar never leaves my house...
yaar,i asked ma dad(works on the airport)..he says u cant take it as hand baggage..but he says if u pursuade them,u mite be in for a chance....
@bjr Sorry for confusing you Well, I took it as hand/cabbin baggage with only ma notebook, piks and extra strings inside.
Guitar is allowed as cabin baggage. In case they object you can request the airline crew to keep the guitar with them during the flight and can collect it once the plane lands and you are disembarking. I have travelled with my guitar and have never been bothered by the staff. cheers
I dun trust cabin crew .. suckers took ma guitar and were trying to fit it under a stupid aircraft seat .. i had to shout at them stupid man just stupid... i asked the guy u wanna put your baby under a seat he had no answer and kept staring at me like a dumb a$$
You expected him to have an answer? What could an employee say dude. Have mercy! LOL@Guitar under a seat.
^ ... dunno about indian airlines but here is how it goes in uk .. YES you can take your guitar without checking it in with the stow away luggage .. IF .. 1) it is in hardcase .. or soft padded case 2) you are willing to let the cabing crew keep it safe all through the journey reason .. the overhead carriers are not big enough for the guitar and you cant keep it in your lap as it then becomes a matter of health and safety (no seat belts for guitars) you CANNOT keep it next to you on the plane . sorry ..
But you can use the strings to garotte. Ain't that a hazard? Or if the guitar is like mine - Flying Vee, you can use it to impale!
^ Ours is a morally superior group. Haha, these inferior tactics may work on yours IGTWPF, but not on IGTBPF!
Chocolates? Vodka? Vodka and chocolates together? I shall exchange our Trainee (he's trying to stage a coup) + the above-mentioned stuff.
