nope u r right taifi ... i am a n.r.p but havent got my guitar insured ... it is seems a silly idea. . but u r right some companies who sell guitars, like soundcntrol and coda music, offer an year's cover on the expensive guitars ... so if you break em or damage them ...and its not yur fault ...u get em replaced..

well don't laugh but I TRIED to get my guitar insured. my mum was getting contents insurance and they asked her is there anything expensive in the house - guess who was jumping up and down pointing at their strat
Look at it this way if you own a guitar worth lakhs of rupees it would be a good idea to get it insured, just like cars etc.
