I'd mentioned this in another thread, but "Learn and Master Guitar" is a great program. Any of you guys starting out who don't have access to a qualified instructor would be advised to look into it.

The way I learned, back when, had an ill tempered jackass of a teacher, said fck you to him, put the instrument down, heard Zeppelin II a few years later, got a Gibson SG, became proficient on it, but played everything by ear. Couldn't read music, didn't understand keys, chords. Didn't even know what the notes were. Knew the sounds, didn't bother with the math.

This guy on Learn and Master unassumingly and thoroughly baby steps you through the fundamentals, allows you to build skill at desired pace and essentially understand music on your guitar from the ground up.

Get the program if ya can.
