I remember it this way: Even After Dinner Greedy Boys Eat Anyway, the D (maj) chord would be written as [X00232] which means press the strings at the corresponding frets. X means don't strike that string. Hope this helps.

hey i have started playing guitar a couple of weeks ago, just tell me one thing: x means not to play that string how is it possible that we do not play a string which is in between other strings which we actually have to play i saw such chords there, help me out thanks in advance
