2 CELESTION VINTAGE 30s!!!!!! And to house them beauties, I'm getting a hardwood closed back cabinet made by Erisa
not a head, its a laney lc15r 1*10 combo..im not too fond of the speaker on it though. Erisa's this excellent luthier in Pondicherry who used to work for Santa Cruz guitars for over 27 years
MAN I NEED PICS. I got myself a cab built in India using celestions in India which I posted earlier. India is suddenly getting a lot exciting. BTW, I purchased this: https://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Soldano-2x12-SemiOpen-S-Loaded-Speaker-Cabinet?sku=489132
Nice, so you're running the Laney's 'speaker out' into this new cab? Interesting. Does Erisa have a number? I need some bone nuts and saddles made for my Tak to see if it'll help the sound. If not, she becomes my beater and a new Walden is on the way. If, that is, the Dynaudio monitors I need don't become more important to me.
attached are the pics of the 2 * 12. its a custom design. speakers are diagonally spaced so that there is more air flow and it also decreases the width of the box hence making it easier to keep. plus it also allows us to keep the amp at a higher position making it easier to reach in the case of a half stack. anyone heard of Dr. Z? He's a guy in the states who does extensive research on amps, speakers and speaker cabs(https://www.drzamps.com). Erisa said that he copied this design from him. anyway check out the pics
Very interesting..looks like a halfway design between a 212 and a 412...closed back + speaker positioning. Dr. Z amps are all over the place these days..part of the 'vintage' renaissance along with Divided by 13, Fuchs, Two Rock et al..
