Yeah. He is good in vocals too.. on the song Down, Down, Down, Down ..


its simply superb.

 

Dont get confused Down,down, Down is an instrumental piece from the blues album. The song he sung was "I'm going Down" by Jeff Beck i think not sure.
By the way i was in the first row and it was great.

 

Unfortunately i'm like BB King - I cant sing and play guitar at the same time either. The only thing i can sing is the blues cause you dont need a great voice for that.

Some didn't have a great voice but had a great amount of soul which is really difficult. If you thought Blues Singing was easy you must be a God by now. Blues is probably the most difficult music. It's really personal and emotional. No feel and soul in Blues is like No Shred in Malmsteen. Without Shred Malmsteen or Paul Gilbert is nothing. They are not players who touch your heart like Clapton.

Anyway check out Coverdale's latest album Into The Light and see how good a Blues Vocalist can get. It's his Best release.

I meant most blues players dont have a good singing , i never said it was easy. I just meant that with my voice the easiest style of singing i could do is blues. I'm no good at anything actually it's only that i'm comfortable playing blues.

Gilbert may not be a blues singer but he still is great fun.

i have some live vids of his ... + some instructional vids ... he really seems to be teh humor d00d ... all the others i have seen (Petrucci, Friedman, ...) they seems to be too serious fellows ..
