I'm not sure drained battey will work!!

Started to think that the amp probably matters more than the guitar to get that fat bluesy sound that one hears from BB King, Peter Green and others (even Santana). Any ideas on that front?

The amp/pedals are what matter most in ur overall sound. First buy a good amp/stompbox with a decent guitar.

Santana's tone is pretty easy to get. Any Modeler based on the Mesa's should be able to hit it.

Thanks. Could you recommend one to me (for the Santana tone or other bluesy tones) that may be available in Mumbai. I have no idea of good brands/features etc. I currently use a Roland Micro Cube without any pedals etc.

    alpha1 I BLUES!

    Any "good" processor from Korg/Zoom/Boss/Digitech/Line6.

All of them have the Mesa and Marshall (the basic staple of distortion) modelling.

Your Santana tone will come from Mesa modeller with low gain.
