Please stop talking. Now.
I rest my case.
i withdraw mine.
You're lucky. I was on a rampage. How did you spend new years? Mine was pretty cool...there were fireworks! Then again, I was by myself.
I spent it like a weekend - Saturday.
mine was pretty much any other day as well..just attended one house party for 2 hours which got quite boring so i went home and smoked a few joints and watched a couple of movies
the berlin fireworks seem wonderful tho! that'd be pretty awesome
I didn't do much for new years either but it was pretty special...at around 11 I went to the Brandenburger Tur to the party mile. They had blocked people from going right up to the gate by then....there were a million people there so I'm assuming that they were too full near the gate. We stood with about a 100,000 people or more from far away, bursting fireworks and waiting for the display to begin. At about 11:55, everybody started singing winds of change and that was pretty special...it actually means something in Berlin to the slightly older people who've stood at the Wall. Once the fireworks started and I got quiet and just stared....they were unbelievably good. And because we were further away, the explosion made very muffled booming sounds which added to the effect. I was constantly reminded of the mother ship in Independence Day exploding and falling to the Earth for some reason. It almost made me forget that I didn't belong there. I have never been to a proper fireworks show before...its fun when we burst our own but this was a visual spectacle. Maybe you guys have seen better at Diwali? I haven't but maybe that just depends on the crowd you're around.
For anyone who cares, this is what I saw (except from about half a mile away)

nah i doubt any diwali fireworks were even half as good as this. amazing stuff
That's pretty amazing, even to read. Here in colombo ppl got drunk and lay on the streets, and in the church, chatting away in singhalese..
As for me, I tried as hell to convince my friends to come, they didn't. I ended up spending the night in my ship. Pretty boring. But there were no fireworks, none. Couldn't believe its a nation's capital. Looks like a village.
hey thanks for sharing
