All the videos I download from youtube are in the FLV format. I can't seem to find a decent player...the one I found does not allow me to rewind/fast forward. So I either need a suggestion for a decent player which runs FLV files or a decent converter which converts FLV files to other formats.
www.vixy.net Everything online. No need for separate player. Select the format you wanna download in and you're done.
Well you can use the free nFlv player. its quite nice as it allows full screen & resizing.. Also Windows Media Player (latest 11) can also play the flash videos. FLVPlayer is also ok.

https://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/dload.html or go for the Media Player Classic + K-Lite Codec Pack as dmf said.
O.K. this mite sound like ignorance, but.... how do u dwnld from youtube...i heard it doesnt allow direct dwnld.
If you watch a video from Youtube, your browser downloads the video in its cache. All you have to do is to search for it. And ofcourse a player for FLV format.
GOm player is probably the best player right now ..it can play anythin just like vlc and its got inbuilt codecs too..it also plays flv files and it is definitely the best flv player rite now
u all no what reall player 11 owns it can play flv with ff n seeking n all it also allows u to record streams n also to download any flv embeded in a webpage
but real player is crap. you can't navigate using keyboard, and it takes up loads CPU while running, an dfrequently freezes display when you mess around by dragging it aroudn the screen
