Proximity wah is relatively easy. Distortion is shit easy. Killswitch is shit easy. For infinite sustain, you have to install a sustainer which involves feeding back the signal to keep it going. Not so easy. If you do buy this cheap guitar, tell me. I want a guitar to experiment on as well.
Hi Am also buyin my first electric...i can tell a good acoustic gtr when i hear or play one, but cant tell the same in electric - ... so WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHILE COMPARING MODELS IN A MUSIC SHOP ? ANY ADVISE, ANY1 ?
@T@sh . Check for the following while comparing 1) PLayability throughout the neck 2) Pickup Switching and effect on the sound. Basically checking on all the positions 3) Playing on Clean and Distortion and checking the tone of ur guitar directly from the Amp and not from some processor or pedal. Listen to the raw sound of ur guitar directly from the Amp. 4) Use same amp to compare all the Guitars Many others ..these are a few basic ones.
How on earth does the proximity actually work?? check this sh!t https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JYajzEBphg&feature=related The dude has gone crazy and totally modded his guitar
do you know a place where i can get tutorials for my aim! n hey, that youtube guy got everythin i wanted!! Shit! n i thought i was gonna do somethin new!! Well, still i need help!! Post on my other thread "HotRod"
Dude....if you're going to do THAT^^ to your guitar, you're going to need a LOT of money. That Korg Kaoss pad itself is $400. Zvex makes a Wah probe. It's effectively a proximity wah. it costs $330. Enjoy.
A guitar shop would (possibly) charge you around Rs.200. They'll have imported heavy duty switches and they charge for labour.
I think i will let the wah stay for sometime! a lil low on cash! But distortion, kill switch and infinite sustain! How much would that cost me??

I'm not a 100% sure. At Alberto's, they charged me Rs.300 for labour to install pickups, capacitor, new pot, nut. Rs.300 X 2 for alpha pots and Rs. 250 for the nut. (Pickups were mine) The switch wouldnt be expensive....all you need is a simple SPDT. Rs.3 at Lamington Road. They (music shop) *might* have high quality ones and charge more. Im guessing Rs.100 For labour, its a very simple hot-switch-ground solder connection, so lets say another Rs.100 for labour. For distortion, killswitch....if you're doing it yourself, itll be very cheap. Rs.200 MAX for both included. Assuming you buy your stuff at Lamington Road (MUMBAI!!) For distortion, you'll need: PCB, components, solder, soldering iron, switch, wire For killswitch you'll need a switch and some wire. It's an estimate. Might vary quite a bit. Harsh, if youre experimenting on a guitar, you should be able to do these two quite easily with some basic soldering knowledge.
The thing is, there is a huge electronics market at my hometown. So i can learn a lot from there. I have never done anything like this before. But i have 90 days of free time, better learn something. If i ask a technician to teach me, do you think he would charge a lot! I just need assistance as i dont want it to be done by anyone else! n one more thing, my frns openion is that if i have to mod a guitar than it should be somethin standard, like an Aria or a Java. I am thinkin of getting a Yemaha or Givson! What say??
