im lookin fer the later Machine Head, All That Remains, As I Lay Dying, My Dying Bride kinda sound... im planing to buy either the EMG 81...even considering the JB...but the JB requires a lot of EQing to get the metal sound right...are the SD Blackouts available in india ???
I have a JB. Its excellent for 80's metal, but requires EQing for nu-metal. Basically, as with all vintage wound pickups, the mids(or the scoop in Marshall terms) are quite pronounced which is not the case with nu-metal. I haven't seen the SD blackouts here in Delhi. If your planning to get some from abroad, do have a look at "WB pickups" too. Custom-wound and everyone of my friend in the states uses them swears by them.
